The STAR-K Symbol
The STAR-K kosher symbol on your products or services indicates that their kosher status is being independently monitored by STAR-K Kosher Certification Inc. Our symbol is recognized by the kosher consumer as a sign that your products meet the strictest standards of kosher. Star-K is the only international kosher agency that works with full cooperation with the Swedish Jewish community.
1. Application for Certification
Describe your company and its operations. The more we know about you, the more effectively and speedily we can process your application.
2. Complete Data Form Including Ingredients and Production Information
The STAR-K company data form is the “bible” of your kosher program. By listing all of the plants, products, and ingredients you use and produce we can build an efficient and streamlined kosher program for your company.
3. Initial Plant Inspection and Final Ingredient Review
Subsequent to a satisfactory review of your application, your facility will need to be reviewed by a senior member of our Rabbinic Staff or Sweden's Chief Rabbi, Amram Maccabi.
4. Contract and Invoice
Kosher certification is a partnership between the certifying agency and the manufacturer. A written agreement outlining the terms and provisions of the partnership is essential. The contract contains clauses, fees and special conditions crafted to specific needs or situations pertaining to your company's kosher program.
5. Letter of Certification and Regular Visits
Upon completion of the signed contract and payment of certification fees, the STAR-K's designated Rabbinic Inspector will review compliance with the signed agreement. The STAR-K will then issue its Letter of Certification (LOC), and kosher production may commence. Your company will be reviewed periodically by our Kosher Inspector.
